10 going on 60
In collaboration with SMU, Chua Chu Kang Sec and West View Primary School, we embarked on a project called 10 going on 60!
This was the second trip to West View Pri as the previous week, Melissa, Irene and I assisted a group of children to put up a performance for the old folks. One very enthusiastic student, Zayan volunteered to perform Machiel Jackson's dance so the rest would be the backstage dancers.
Overall things turned out quite well, at least much better than what I had expected.
We felt that the new generation seems to have gaps between the older one as they could not speak or understand any dialect. Thus, they were very bored and did not really talk too much to the old folks.

Besides playing games, everyone was given half of the mooncake but we thought that the serving was too much and too sweetened for them. :(
Most of them did not really like to eat mooncakes.

The cheerfulness of this grandpa caught our attention. He appreciated the handmade lanterns from the student and he even sang a song loudly in front of Irene and I to express his appreciation.

What a meaningful scene! The 10 years old children were sitting together with the 60s old folks to enjoy the food.
