There is a lot to learn for the job, we learn airline codes, city codes, SOP for different cases like medical emergency, skytrain break down and etc. Familiarise ourselves with the ground information around the 3 respective terminals, like what are the type of shops available, what are they selling and where is their location. Everything may sound easy now but when you're on the ground, it will turn to be confusing!
Just mention our job scope briefly. We will be on ground most of the time in the airport to assist passengers during peak hours. Answer their general enquries, helping them to check information on the boarding passes, direct them directions and even walk with them! In addition to that, we also assist the Duty terminal manager in some situation like skytrain break down, queue bunching, manage the crowd and etc.
Our work is a shift pattern. In March, we have the 9 hours shift and 12 hour shift for training purpose and starting from April onwards, we are working a Morning shift 9am to 9pm and a Night shift 9pm to 9am, and the following 2 days are off!
Let me introduce my teammate, Karmen!

This is our Max guide book which is very useful in providing informarion to us!

We always like to hang out at kopitiam for our meals because with the privilege card for staff, we are entitled to 30% discount as you know that food is not cheap in airport!
Just to share my little story.
i was at the Gate holdroom for flights to London and Paris, some of the passengers were really friendly, greeted me by saying "hi" with a smile before they entered. It was 20 minutes before the gate closed, a married couple approached me anxiously for help. They had problems to clear the screening because they carried 2 rugby balls which were prohibited. The balls were meant for a gift for their son and they did not want to throw them away. They hope i could help them to find a deflate ball service.
I was stunned by their request and i could not think of any shops with the transit area which provide this type of service. I decided to give a try because i did not want to dissappoint them so we went to search. On our way, i saw my supervisor and i asked her for help. She suggested that maybe we could try Fifa and we ran there. I approached the sales assistant and she was very willing to help us. Finally we deflated both balls and ran back on time. They were very grateful to me and thank me! I sent them off and bid farewell.
I really felt so proud to be a service personnelle! The great sense of achievement from my heart makes me so contented! YEAH!
♥ This is the butterfly garden which is my favourite place that i ll love to share with passengers!
